The Challenge with Weight Loss and Living Healthy

Many people say they want to lose weight, but they do not take the necessary action to begin the process. As a former Certified Personal Trainer, I would encounter many people that would approach me and ask about my services. They would express to me that they really wanted to get in shape and live a healthier lifestyle. However, many times that was the last conversation we had. I would follow-up with all potential clients and for those that I reached, there were a myriad of reasons why they were not ready to start. Studies have shown that many people are afraid to take action when it comes to their health and weight loss because they fear they cannot achieve their goals.

If you are serious about your health and want to make changes as far as eating healthy and exercise, it requires a mindset change. People often see food as a comfort and exercise as a burden because they do not have enough time or find it boring. If we begin to think about weight loss and living a healthy lifestyle in terms of the benefits and that we must have the strength and energy to do what we have been gifted to do, it brings a new and fresh perspective. The body needs to be fueled daily and we must put the right foods in our body. Exercise is beneficial because it improves muscle strength, endurance, and delivers oxygen and nutrients to our tissues, which helps with cardiovascular health. Healthy eating and exercise work in tandem to give us the energy we need to handle our daily responsibilities.  So, if you are ready to lose weight and live a healthy life style, remember that when you take action, you are moving one step closer to equipping yourself with the ability to fulfill your purpose using your gifts and talents.
